Post-Treatment Care Instructions

At Sarina Dental Care, our care doesn’t end when your procedure is over. We want
your recovery to be as smooth, comfortable and stress-free as possible.

Following the right aftercare instructions is key to promoting healing, reducing
discomfort, and preventing complications. If you’ve recently had oral surgery,
extractions, or another dental procedure, please follow the guidelines below and
don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns.

24/7 Support

General Aftercare Guidelines

Bleeding & Gauze

If gauze has been placed over the area, keep it in place for at least one hour
You can replace it hourly as needed
Avoid spitting or rinsing forcefully, this can disrupt clotting and cause bleeding

Swelling and Ice Packs

Mild swelling is normal after surgery
Apply an ice pack to the outside of your face near the area for 15-20 minutes at a time
This can help reduce swelling and relieve discomfort

Pain Relief

If you've been prescribed pain medication, begin taking it as soon as discomfort begins
Avoid aspirin-based medications unless directed, as these may increase bleeding
Over-the-counter pain relief can be used as advised

Activities to Avoid

Rest is important, avoid heavy lifting, sport, or strenuous activity for the first 24 hours
No smoking or vaping during healing, this can slow recovery and increase risk of infection
Avoid alcohol, acidic or fizzy drinks for 48 hours
Stick to soft, cool foods and avoid chewing near the affected area
